"HoneyComb for Tablets"
With preview of Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich

Nature and Objective:

Tablets create a whole new user experience.  The Android Honeycomb tablet platform introduces many new and exciting features for users and developers.  This course is a hands-on training that guides you through the steps in building apps for Android Honeycomb platform.  It covers new Android UI constructs like Fragments, Action Bar, graphics and additional connectivities like keyboard and USB.  This course also compares the differences between smartphone and tablet apps so that you can create mobile apps effectively across them.


Speaker:

Mr. Frederick Lee, Project Manager of Mobile Technology for Digital Green Technology Co., Ltd. Prior to founding DG, Fred was a consultant of IT Industry Development of Hong Kong Productivity Council.  Fred had extensive experience in developing and managing mobile applications for different industry sectors like property management, sales force automation, and mobile game for schools. He had conducted many mobile trainings for local institutions to overseas events like Singapore and Australia. Fred, with Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering and Master’s degrees in Information Technology from HK Poly University, has over 18 years of industry experience in developing IT systems, mobile applications, as well as delivering training courses on wireless technologies and mobile application development.  Fred is also regularly invited speaker on Android app development for educational, government and other public events.


Target Audience:

Basic Java programming skills preferrably with XML knowledge.  Android programming is preferred but not essential.
